Elder Ogorugba Godwin Oghenero the Executive Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State has emerged as the best chairman in southern, Nigeria for the 2025 Nigerian Grassroots Leadership Award.
According to a press statement released by the organizer, Scroll International, the Council Chairman emerged after a thorough scrutiny of nominations by the general public based on performance and contribution to the development of the grassroots backed with the public voting on the scroll online platform
According to the secretary Nomination committee, Barr. Festus Adeboyeku, the nomination of Elder Godwin Ogorugba was based on his impeccable service, tremendous efforts on infrastructural development and Human development initiatives carried out in his local government area. He noted that Elder Ogorugba’s developmental strides in Isoko North LGA and Delta state is indeed a living hope to the survival of our emerging democracy.
The Nigerian Grassroots Leadership Award which is an annual award was designed to celebrate and reward visionary leadership at the grassroots. The award is to reward excellence, establish the culture of accountability as a symbol for responsible governance and encourage recipients to do more and challenge others to be alive to their responsibilities.
This year’s conferment ceremony which will draw dignitaries from across the country shall be in Abuja with dignitaries across the country to celebrate winners.
