Hon. (Amb.) Undiandeye Peter Akonfe, KSM was born on 20 October 1980 in Obudu, Cross River State, is an accomplished geoscientist, administrator and public servant from the Bette tribe.
His educational journey began at Sacred Heart Primary School, Bedia-Obudu, followed by studies at Mary Knoll College, Okuku-Yala; Federal Science College, Ogoja and Begiading Secondary Grammar School, Obudu. He holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Geology (2002), M.Sc in Petroleum Geophysics (2008) and an MBA in Business Management (2014) from the University of Calabar, where he is presently pursuing a Ph.D.
After completing the NYSC programme in 2004, he served with distinction at Petrostuff Nigeria Limited from 2006 to 2016, Hobark International Limited from 2016 to 2020 and Oasis Corporate Systems Limited from 2020 to 2024. His academic contributions include publications on GIS-based AHP and data-driven machine learning algorithms for assessing irrigation water quality in an agricultural nine district within the Lower Benue Trough, Nigeria.
Since 2024, he has held the office of Executive Chairman, Obudu Local Government Area, where he has prioritised educational support through scholarship awards for indigent students and registration assistance for WAEC candidates in Bedia-Obudu LGA. His tenure is full with meaningful community development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents.
His commitment to service extends beyond public office. Through the Bulo Foundation Scholarship Scheme, he provides sustained educational support to disadvantaged children. His humanitarian and philanthropic outreach includes assistance to the aged, visits to the sick in hospitals and the distribution of free learning materials to primary schools.
Hon. Undiandeye is an active member of several professional and faith-based organisations, including the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), the Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists (NAH), the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) and the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM).
His honours include the CRS Postgraduate Scholarship Award (2001), the Best MSc (Calabar) Award (2008), the Ambassador of Peace Award (2022) and the Upcoming Malabite to Watch Award (2023). He is widely acknowledged for excellence, integrity and commitment to public service.
Guided by a personal philosophy anchored in hard work and complete trust in God’s providence, he enjoys travelling and driving, with international exposure that includes visits to South Africa, Rwanda and Angola.
